Explore Collaborative Living at Coastside Cohousing
Join us for an inspiring and practical conversation with Katie McCamant, nationally recognized cohousing expert and Coastside Cohousing’s development consultant.
With decades of experience designing, developing, and living in cohousing communities, Katie has been a driving force behind many of Northern California’s most well-known communities, including Doyle Street, Swan’s Market, Pleasant Hill, FrogSong, Nevada City, Fair Oaks, Washington Commons, and Berkeley Moshav, among many others across California and the country. She has also lived in cohousing herself for most of the past three decades.
In this special presentation, Katie will share:
What continues to inspire her to create cohousing communities
What she personally gains from living in community
Why she sees Coastside Cohousing as the next great opportunity for cohousing in the Bay Area
Through the lens of cohousing, Katie will explore how thoughtful design and shared values help people of all ages live more connected, sustainable, and intentional lives—balancing individual independence with collective well-being.
Cohousing neighborhoods combine private homes with shared community spaces, creating supportive environments that meet the needs of working parents, older adults, and individuals at every stage of life. The result is a way of living that fosters meaningful connection while still honoring personal privacy.
Whether you’re brand new to cohousing, actively exploring a different way to live, or already involved in community-oriented living, this session will offer real-life insights, inspiring stories, and practical takeaways.
